Upcycling

Today was about upcycling and reusing things I already had.
Clothing: Firstly I found a knit type top in my dresser that had a hole in it, and knew it could become an accessory for Israel. I had seen something like this on Pinterest, so it was very straight forward to make a beanie out of it. It’s very easy, particularly when you can utilise the bottom hem. Israel has a little room to grow in this beanie.
Food: We had leftover risotto last night so I have reused it to make Arancini, which is a dish that originated in Sicily. You just roll balls of leftover risotto around a small cube of cheese, then crumb it like we did the fish the other night. Coat in flour, dip in seasoned beaten egg, then roll in breadcrumbs. Set in fridge for about an hour if you can. Then fry in oil until heated through enough to melt cheese, and browned on the outside. These could be served as an appetiser or as part of a main.
I am sure there are many more opportunities around the house to reuse things and I still have fabric left on that top too!
